I love the collaborative printing experience. It is so cool to meet all the artists and to see their blocks. I also love witnessing the “big reveal”, when the inked block is finally transformed into a beautiful print.

Woodcut printing, for me, is a meditative process. I will draw the image several times before the carving begins; by the time I start cutting into the block, I will be intimately familiar with my image and understand where each mark needs to be made.
Brandie Dziegiel
The physicality of carving wood expanded my understanding and appreciation for relief printing. Previously, I would destroy many unfinished works, but printmaking rooted me in a process. Completing a carving requires decisiveness in decision-making and a commitment to move forward.

I often think and work in layers or color blocks. I love that moment in printmaking when you pull a print and there is this leap between what you thought it might look like and what it looks like. It feels like magic.
Keith Neltner
Print has always been part of my creative projects. I’ve worked with large-scale commercial presses, handled my production, and leaned into the hands-on details — color, trapping, specialty inks — to capture a tangible experience.
