  • Participating in Big Ink for a second time gave me an opportunity to put into practice what I learned from my first year by trying out different techniques and materials, and challenging myself to go bigger. It is very rewarding to hear from other artists about their process and what inspires them. Inking and printing is the most difficult part of printmaking for me, but Lyell’s knowledge as an experienced printmaker ensures you will be happy with the final product. My print Whale Fall, along with my first Big Ink print of the planet Jupiter, continues my exploration of the parts of nature that I find strange, frightening, or fascinating.
