I enjoyed my experience creating a large woodcut in the workshop. The course videos were well presented and thorough. Lyell has a rare ability to speak in a measured pace with great clarity. Having the full menu of videos available in the student center is helpful as one can view them according experience and need, and avoid any lessons that may be repetitive or not relevant for some participants. Personally, I learned something from every video I watched. The time-lapse video of carving the landscape video was a favorite!

The self-directed nature of the remote workshop requires a certain amount of discipline. It was inspiring for me to have to establish a regular practice of working on my block in advance of the in-person print day.

The actual day of printing was very well organized and fun. Lyell and the crew at First Proof created a welcoming atmosphere where a rhythm was quickly established, and all the participants were invested in helping one another create the best prints possible.
