  • Lyell is knowledgeable, hard-working, positive and thorough in all that he does during this whole process. His ability, positive temperament, and experience with so many people are extremely valuable to me as an artist.  Additionally, Lyell’s own artwork serves as a strong example for all who participate in any of his workshops, whether seasoned printmakers or first-time participants.

  • Lyell creates a warm community in the workshop, explains every process clearly, and makes the work worry-free and celebratory. Everyone came to the printing day prepared with excellent woodcut plates, thanks to Lyell’s detailed instructions that were provided in advance. It was enjoyable to see the diverse range of imagery!
