Summary: Learn to repair cutting errors on your woodblock using epoxy putty.
[INTRO: MUSIC PLAYING]
Fix minor mistakes using wood filler.
Most brands shrink and crumble, so only use JB Weld.
Slice off a cross section of the roll and knead it between your fingers
activating the epoxy. Press the filler into the error.
Use a putty knife to slice away the excess.
The cleaner the cut,
the better. The putty cures in a day when left undisturbed,
but you can speed up the process with a hair dryer.
Once it hardens, sand the surface until smooth.
Place a ruler’s edge over the fill.
You may see the light shine through if the repair is uneven.
Repeat the filling and sanding until the gap is gone.
Putty can fill areas up to one inch in diameter.
Anything more significant will be nearly impossible to fill evenly.
It’s not worth the frustration. Instead,
work the composition into the error.
Have a plan before carving.
That way you’ll only have small mistakes to fix.
Thanks for watching and happy printing.
